and rate of DNA synthesis in the mammalian cell, the intracellular production of thymidine (Tdn) nucleotides has received some attention and has been discussed in a recent review article by O'Brien (31). Increased activity of the enzymes related to the production of Tdr nucleo tides and their incorporation into DNA has been shown to occur in regenerating rat liver (3, 4, 5, 9, 25) as well as in other growing tissues (26, 27, 34, 36, 41). Although these alterations have been interpreted as representing changes in homeostatic mechanisms supplying the neces sary ingredients for DNA synthesis (8), and therefore

hepatomas have demonstrated that a spectrum of such tumors exists with varying degrees of change from the parent hepatocyte (26—30). Such hepatocarcinomas as the Morris 5123 (18) and Reuber H-35 (34), for instance, resemble the parent tissue to a marked degree both morphologically and biochemically (27), and thus fall in the category termed “minimaldeviation hepatomas― by Potter (31). متن کاملActivities of some enzymes of pyrimidine and DNA synthesis in a rat transplantable hepatoma and human primary hepatomas, in cell lines derived from these tissues, and in human fetal liver.
Activites of the enzymes DNA polymerase, thymidine kinase, thymidylate kinase, thymidylate synthase, and deoxycytidylate deaminase have been measured in rat and human normal and neoplastic liver, in human fetal liver, and in cell lines derived from human hepatomas and rat transplantable hepatomas. The activities of these enzymes were increased in rat transplantable hepatomas, relative to rat no...

Objective(s) Some investigation has indicated that adipose-derived stem cells possess different surface epitopes and differentiation potential according to the localization of fat pad from which the cells were derived. In the present study proliferation capacity and aging of such cells were explored. Materials and Methods Adherent cells were isolated from the collagenase digests of adipose tiss...

rived from the primary tumors induced with ethionine. Normal liver, Dunning L-C18 hepatoma, and Morris 5123 hepatoma were similar in having almost no deoxycytidylate deaminase, whereas the Novikoff hepatoma was shown to be a rich source of the enzyme, converting 400-600 ¿¿moles substrate/gm protein/hr. Other hepatomas had values between 50 and 500 /umoles/gm protein/hr. The Morris 5123 hepato...
